The European Research and Innovation Days are the flagship event of DG Research and Innovation. They are the opportunity to hear from pioneering voices in R&I across the continent and beyond.
With R&I being a key factor in tackling crises facing today’s society, the European Research and Innovation Days help futureproof the EU and its policies.
Originally conceived in 2019 as a physical event, VO Europe seamlessly handled the transition to make the conference fully digital in 2020 and 2021 in response to the Covid-19 crisis. We constructed a tailor-made online platform with streaming, networking, and gaming capacities.
We oversaw the design and creation of 5 specialised TV studios to stream sessions, as well as liaising with and training speakers to optimise their online sessions, and developing innovative features to maximise engagement from attendees. The 2021 edition also saw the creation of an interactive online exhibition to accompany the event, featuring inspiring stories of European researchers and innovators across written and audiovisual formats. Bringing together policymakers, researchers, industry representatives, and more, the R&I community has grown from 8000 to 36000 participants.
Subsequently, VO Europe has gone on to support DG RTD with a hybrid editions of the R&I Days in 2022, as well as a bespoke online exhibition.
