๐Ÿค“ About the job: mission & key responsibilities

The internship will take place in the New Business Unit (NBU) department. The NBU at VO Europe focuses on business development, identifying and pursuing financially beneficial opportunities for the organisation. Its mission is to monitor requests from international institutions, including the European Commission, and create compelling and competitive proposals to secure contracts.

Here is the list of tasks:

  • Studies and analyses of the European market: Conduct research using existing European platforms to identify upcoming tenders that impact the NBU; prepare reports summarising findings and present them to the team.
  • Supporting business development activities: Assist in creating and updating databases to ensure the efficiency of new activities; help prepare presentations and other materials/documents.
  • Supporting tender creation: Assist in the development and production of responses to tenders, both administratively and in terms of content, to ensure understanding of the specifications required by the contracting authority. A greater focus on the communication needs within the tender creation process.
  • Project Support: Provide administrative and operational support for ongoing projects within the NBU, monitoring project timelines, deliverables, and budgets to ensure all activities align with project objectives.
  • Stakeholder communication: Participate in preparing regular updates on the NBU’s progress and achievements for internal and external stakeholders; contribute to drafting emails, meeting summaries, and other types of correspondence.
  • Training and development: Participate in internal training sessions and workshops to enhance professional skills relevant to the NBU’s areas of focus; engage in self-directed learning activities, seeking feedback and mentorship from team members.

ย ๐Ÿค  About the profile: qualification and skills โ€“ Do you fit the role?

  • Ongoing bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as Communication, Event Management, Political Science, European Studies, Business Administration, or other related disciplines
  • At least a C1 level in English
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear emails and summaries, and communicate with multiple stakeholders
  • Comfortable using the Microsoft Office suite (especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Sensitivity to working in multicultural and European environments
  • Genuine interest in business development.
