How do you bring the power of EU research and innovation closer to the people it serves? That was the challenge behind the European Research and Innovation Top Stories Exhibition. While EU-funded projects are transforming lives across the continent, their impact can often feel remote or invisible. This initiative set out to change that—by telling the stories behind the science, and putting citizens at the heart of the narrative.
VO imagined and built an immersive virtual space where over 100 EU-funded success stories could shine. Every element was crafted to inspire curiosity and connection—from the intuitive user journey and robust cybersecurity, to seamless multilingual access.
We drew on our deep understanding of the R&I landscape to create rich, engaging content: videos, podcasts, and written stories that brought breakthrough ideas to life. Our team also activated a multi-channel promotional campaign and embedded playful gamification features to turn exploration into interaction—making the platform not just informative, but unforgettable.
The final experience? Eight vibrant panoramas that invited users to journey through the EU’s vision for the future—touching on health, environment, education, smart cities, food and agriculture, and beyond. Each theme became a world of its own, highlighting real people and real projects,making a real difference.
This wasn’t just an exhibition—it was a celebration of what the EU stands for when it invests in knowledge, progress, and people. Building on its success, VO proudly partnered with DG RTD for a new edition in 2022—continuing to keep Europe at heart.
